The 18th Project Fair and Competition Successfully Organized

The 18th Engineering Faculty Project Fair and Competition, organized by the Faculty of Engineering at Eskişehir Technical University, was held at the İki Eylül Campus with high attendance. The fair showcased and evaluated the capstone projects of senior students, representing the tangible outputs of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their four-year engineering education.

With 13 companies hosting booths and representatives from approximately 30 firms in attendance, the fair provided a productive networking environment that strengthened university-industry collaboration and allowed students to engage directly with the sector. While students had the opportunity to evaluate and refine their projects based on industry feedback, companies gained direct access to a pool of highly qualified human resources.

The event was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Onur KAYA and Prof. Yunus ÖZDEMİR, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Hanife APAYDIN ÖZKAN, and the President of the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry (ESO), Mr. Celalettin KESİKBAŞ, who met with students and faculty members.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Onur Kaya emphasized the critical importance of academic and industry-oriented projects for national development, stating: "Such events offer invaluable opportunities for students to translate theoretical knowledge into practice. They also foster interaction between the university and industry, laying the groundwork for collaborative projects. I want every graduating student to know they have the unwavering support of a strong university behind them."

Mr. Celalettin KESİKBAŞ drew attention to sustainability and green transformation, remarking: "Future engineers are expected to possess not only technical proficiency but also environmental and social awareness. Green transformation is indispensable for a sustainable industry, and well-educated engineers will be the driving force behind this change." He further noted that such events are vital for making the potential of young talents visible.

Of the 187 projects exhibited this year, 70 were supported under TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 28 under TÜBİTAK 2209-B. Furthermore, with the introduction of "Industry" and "Sustainability" award categories for the first time this year, a total of 30 projects received awards. This initiative highlighted projects that make a difference not only in technical success but also in social and environmental responsibility.

The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the winning teams and a commemorative photo session. Organized by the ESTU Faculty of Engineering, this fair plays a significant role in preparing students for the future by increasing their sectoral awareness and transforming university-industry cooperation into concrete results.
